June Grace Hockenberry, age 81, of Smithmill, PA died on June 26, 2018 at Epworth Pleasant Manor, Tyrone, PA surrounded by her family. She was born on June 25, 1937 in Houtzdale, PA to the late Cyrus and Grace (Reed) Goss.
June was a devoted member of Janesville United Methodist Church. She was an activist for both the environment and for animals. She loved taking walks with her kids and calling people on the phone especially for their birthdays.
June was the beloved wife of 37 years to the late Lugine M. Hockenberry, Sr., loving and devoted mother of Tracy Hockenberry of Smithmill, PA, Terry Hockenberry of Tyrone, PA and the late Lugine M. Hockenberry, Jr., proud grandmother of Jason C. (Jessica) Hockenberry of Irvona, PA, great-grandmother of Jonathan and Emma, sister of Cyrus (Judy) Goss of Buffalo, NY, Fred (Marcia) Goss of Houtzdale, PA, James Goss of Niagara Falls, NY, the late Norman Goss, Lucille Codwell, Idabelle Hockenberry and Frances Bloom.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 1st from 2-4pm & 6-8pm at Kruise-Spewock Funeral Home, 2550 Union Street, Ramey, PA, where funeral services will be held at 11am on Monday, July 2nd. Pastor Clare Pannebaker will officiate. Interment will immediately follow at Brisbin I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
