Kruise Funeral Homes, Inc. was founded in 1984 and 1985 with the merger of two funeral homes, Shoff Funeral Home in Madera and Buranovsky Funeral Home in Ramey. Frank Kruise had worked for Shoff Funeral Home in high school, completed his internship at the firm, and went to work for Mr. Shoff. In 1984, Shoff’s competitor, Leonard E. Buranovsky approached Mr. Kruise about buying his business, and that purchase took place that December. When Mr. Shoff decided to retire, he offered the firm to Mr. and Mrs. Kruise, and they completed the purchase of Shoff Funeral Home in June, 1985. In 2002, Mr. and Mrs. Kruise built a new funeral home facility in Ramey. In 2015, Frank and Debora Kruise sold the two funeral homes to Joseph Spewock, and he formed Kruise-Spewock Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc.
