Obituary for Catherine "Katie" DuFour

Catherine “Katie” DuFour, 96, of Fernwood, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at Windy Hill Village Presbyterian Home in Philipsburg.

Born on December 28, 1925 in Houtzdale, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Anna Rusnak.

She was a member of St. Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Janesville.

She married Frank “Fert” DuFour on June 28, 1947 in St. Vladimir’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church. He passed away in 2016.

Katie was a homemaker. She loved cooking and baking, and always trying new recipes. She also loved gardening and watching nature’s beauty.

She is survived by her daughter, Shelley DuFour-Martin, and her husband James, of Illinois, a son, Barry DuFour, and his wife Deb, of South Dakota, a sister, Eva Wasiw, and three grandchildren, Ryan N. (Aimee) DuFour, Brianna E. DuFour, and Garrett J. Martin.

Family will receive friends Thursday from 4-7 PM and Friday from 8:30-9:30 AM at Kruise-Spewock Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., Madera. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday in St. Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Janesville with Fr. Paul Bigelow as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Vladimir Ukrainian Cemetery, Ramey.
