Charles L. Rerko, 86, of Ramey, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2022 at Penn Highlands Clearfield hospital.
Born on May 2, 1936, in Ramey, he was the son of the late Charles and Mary (Chamer) Rerko.
He was a 1954 graduate of Madera High School. He was a US Air Force veteran, having served from 1955 to 1959. He was a foreman at GM McCrossin for thirty years. Chuck loved to work, and was a concrete finisher on his weekends.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, the General Laborers Union Local 824, and a fifty year member of the First Catholic Slovak Union.
On May 14, 1960, he married Barbara Bacher at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Ramey. She survives at home.
In addition to his wife, Chuck is survived by two daughters, Trina (Tim) Janocko of Clearfield, and Charlene (David) Gillen of Greencastle, PA; a sister, Betty Ann Morroni of State College; four grandchildren, Andrew (Natalie) Janocko, Annie (Alex) Weaver, David (Lyndsay) Gillen, and Timothy (Vanessa) Cook; and six great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Noah, Braden, Owen, Finnely, and Grayson.
He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Leonard, and Edward Rerko; and two sister, Helen Preltz and Florence Wargnier.
Friends will be received 4-7 PM Tuesday and 9-9:45 AM Wednesday at Kruise-Spewock Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., Ramey. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM Wednesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ramey. Rev. Zab Amar will be celebrant. Burial with military honors will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Ramey.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Ramey.
