Obituary for Eugene Godin

Eugene Bryan Godin, 80, formerly of Ramey, passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021 in Oregon.
Gene was born in Phillipsburg, Pennsylvania. He grew up in Ramey, and graduated from Moshannon Valley High School in 1959 and attended most of his high school reunions and kept in touch with classmates throughout the years.
He entered the U.S. Air Force on December 3, 1959. His tour of duty took him around the world, including Geiger Field in Spokane and Lewis-McCord in Tacoma, Washington; Eielson AFB in Fairbanks, Alaska; Clark AFB in the Philippines; Dow AFB in Bangor, Maine; Udorn AFB in Thailand; Torrejon AFB, Madrid, Spain; Craig AFB, Selma, Alabama; Edwards AFB, Edwards, California where he was active in many classified programs.
Gene married Marilyn Siegel on August 8, 1964 and had two children, Renee Godin Whipple and Christine Godin, they divorced in March 1988.
Gene retired from the U.S Air Force in December, 1985, as Chief Master Sergeant, highest ranking non-commissioned officer. From there he was employed by Northrop Grumman Corporation, as the B-2 Program Flight Test Manager, and retired in 1995.
Gene is survived by his wife Judy of 32 years, and his two daughters, Renee Godin Whipple, and Christine Godin and Son-In-Law Jack Whipple, of Spokane, Washington; Sister-In-Law Vickie Godin of Houtzdale, Pennsylvania, and his Nephew Tom and Amy and their children David, Kyle, Alex and Erin, from Allport, Pennsylvania; Grandchildren, Amber Reynolds and Desiree Whipple of Spokane, Washington; Great Grandsons, Jude and Elijah Shierman of Idaho; and many extended and beloved family in California.
He is preceded in death by his father, Emile Godin of Ramey, Pennsylvania on 12 July 1971; his mother, Caroline Godin of Ramey, Pennsylvania, 23 April 2002; and his brother, Bill Godin of Houtzdale, Pennsylvania, October 1988.
Gene’s Grandfather Lloyd handed down a 1911 Hupmobile and from there his passion of restoring antique cars began. Gene and Judy at one time had 16 classic cars and a huge Lionel train collection. They retired to southern Oregon.
A Celebration of Life will be on November 6th, 11:00 a.m. at the Ramey United Methodist Church. Military Honors will be accorded at the church. Interment will be private in the I.O.O.F. cemetery, Brisbin.
