Eugene S. Yaletchko, 98, of Smokerun, passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2021 at Hollidaysburg Veterans Home.
Born March 3, 1923 in Smokerun, he was the son of the late Steven and Nancy (Marushak) Yaletchko.
He was US Army Veteran of WWII, where he served in the 180th Engineers Heavy Pontoon Battalion. After, he worked for the Budd Company in Philadelphia building railroad cars. He was a member of the Stephen Kandrach VFW Post 6321 in Janesville.
He is survived by his loving wife, Eleanor (Peachman) Yaletchko of Smokerun; two step-sons, Frank Genelius of Smokerun, Chris Genelius of Philadelphia; two grandchildren, Natasha Hampton and Mary Pelligrini; two great-grandchildren, Macy and Maura Pelligrini; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two step-daughters, Paulette Mitchell and Mary Beth Genelius, one brother, and one sister.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
