Condolences & Tributes

Bobby, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your Mom. I just saw her in December and she was still a spitfire and had all her wits about her. I will miss her very much! She was a GREAT AUNT! I hope that one day, I could be 1/2 the person she was. She will be greatly missed. PEACE and LOVE to you Aunt Helen! Miss you much!! Take care Cousin!

I am deeply saddened today. The passing of my Aunt Helen is a profound and personal loss in my life. Through the years we remained close, and spoke often, discussing family and life’s events. She always shared with me her deep concern for all her family and friends. As I reflect back on my youth, I have many fond memories of spending time with her in New Jersey. On special occasions I would sleep over her house, and she always made me a wonderful breakfast that was fit for a king. When mom said no, ask Aunt Helen! She was someone with a truly benevolent soul. When I turned 16 years old, Aunt Helen sold her 1965 Ford Mustang and unselfishly gave me the money so I could purchase my 1st car, a 1970 Ford Mustang. I never forgot how good that made me feel. But even more importantly, I witnessed just how much joy it brought to my Aunt, being able to help. Through that experience, I learned that giving is more meaningful than getting. A valuable lesson which I’ve tried to practice each day of my life. Thank you Aunt Helen... I think back and remember how hard Aunt Helen worked. She always kept a clean home, cooked great meals and still had time to be genuinely concerned for everyone she knew. Many Christmas eves were spent at her house where great home cooked food just added to the festivities of a special and warm holiday. In a kind and nurturing way, she always made me feel special and loved. She was a second mother to me, and someone who I will never forget, ever. My mom Dorothy, is suffering from an illness which has stolen her memories, but it has not taken the deep love from her heart that she feels for her family. I know this loss would be unbearable to her as well. Aunt Helen, if anyone is deserving of heaven it’s most certainly you.... We Love You and will miss you always. A beautiful soul has been sent to our Lord. I will always remember our trips to town. My time as a child spent hanging out with you and and my Grandma. And your Feisty ways when that guy in parking lot said your door hit his. You got him straight quickly lol. Loved the front porch conversations that I still share with my kids to this day. It's a different world now everyone is in such a hurry. But not in Fernwood were the days passed by with new adventures and places to explore. However finding my way from grandma's to your place through the woods behind Grandma's got me in trouble, mostly because I was filthy dirty and muddy and wet from walking through the creek. But you cleaned me up, called grandma told her were I was and washed my clothes keeping our secret so I didn't get yelled at. You were unique in your ways and will always hold a special place in my heart. Until we meet again. Enjoy God's kingdom, it must be so grand. Pops Lana and my children Les Jamie and Sonny Ray.
