Obituary for Irvin Burton
Irvin R. Burton, 79, of Bigler Twp., passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at the James E. Van Zandt Veterans Medical Center.
Born on February 5, 1944 in Philipsburg, he was the son of the late William and Bertha () Burton.
He was a US Army Veteran having served his country in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 591 in Houtzdale. He loved his dog, Little Man. He loved to garden and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by son, Roy (Rachel) Burton of Madera; step-children, Larry (Walter) Travis, Mark (Rhonda) Travis, and Tracy (Neil) Shaw; six grandchildren, Noah and Owen Burton, Trevor and Tyler Travis, Erica Boyer, and Tabitha Shaw; and two great-grandchildren, Linden and Benson, Boyer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Delores (Kerr) Burton and several siblings. He was the last of his generation.
Family will receive friends Friday from 5-8 PM, and Saturday from 10 AM until the time of service at 11 AM in Kruise-Spewock Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., Ramey, Pastor Robert Ford will officiate. Military Honors will be accorded following service at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
