Obituary for Joann Zimmerman
Joann (Hansel) Zimmerman, 84, of Ramey, PA passed away on Tuesday, May 25. 2021 at her home.
Born February 12, 1937 in Newton Falls, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Kohute) Hansel.
She was a 1955 graduate of Madera High School. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Ramey. She worked at Sylvania before being a homemaker. She loved cooking, baking, and antiquing. She was a Steelers and Pirates fan and loved to watch them play. She loved holiday decorating and most of all her husband, children, and grandchildren.
On November 28, 1958, Joann married Thomas W. “Chub” Zimmerman in Virginia. They were married for 62 years, he survives at home.
She is also survived by four children, Thomas J. Zimmerman of Houtzdale, Mark R. Zimmerman of Johnsonburg, Renee Murarik of Houtzdale, and Lori Love of Houtzdale; two brothers, Franz Hansel of OH and Michael Hansel of Philipsburg; three sisters, Karen Baron of NY, Bonnie Miller of Philipsburg, and Darlene Walstrom of Houtzdale; fourteen grandchildren, Darren, Brandon, and Shane Murarik, Taylor Murarik Schall, Courtney Latosky, Katilin Walker, Jenny Verocher, Joseph and James Zimmerman, Jacob, Justin, Brock, Annie, and Brice Love; and three great-grandchildren, Madilynn Walker, Scarlett Murarik, and Jozie Shaw.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Denise Zimmerman in 1974, and Diana Zimmerman Latosky in 2003.
All services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
