John P. Kitko, Sr


John P. Kitko, Sr., 84 of Houtzdale died at 6:15 AM on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at his residence after a lengthy illness.

Born on June 4, 1930 in Madera, he was a son of the late Philip and Victoria (Wrobleski) Kitko.

John was a parishioner of Christ The King Catholic Church, Houtzdale and was a farmer. In 1953 he became the owner and operator of John P. Kitko & Sons Trucking. He enjoyed spending time with his family and deep sea fishing.

On April 18, 1953 in the former Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Madera, he wed the former Marie Warholic, who survives him of Houtzdale.

John is survived by four sons, Richard J. (Helen) Kitko, Columbia, SC; Raymond P. (Shirley) Kitko, Sr., Ocean; John P. (Elizabeth) Kitko, Jr., Madera; Christopher R. (Nicole) Kitko, Houtzdale; six grandchildren, Raymond (Bobbie) Jr., Jesse, Alura, Jonah, Noah, Caleb and great-granddaughter, Tessa.

He is also survived by a sister and three brothers; Helen Kobilarcik, Massillon, OH; Philip (Doris) Kitko, Houtzdale, Fred (Barbara) Kitko, Coalport, RD, Ronald Kitko, Madera and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a brother James Kitko.

Friends will be received at the Kruise Funeral Home, Inc., Ramey on Friday, Jan. 16 from 2-4 and 6-9 PM and on Saturday, Jan. 17 from 9 - 10:15 AM.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Christ The King Church, Houtzdale on Saturday, Jan. 17 at 11:00 AM with Fr. Marc J. Solomon as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery, Houtzdale. Memorial donations may be made to Geisinger House of Care 100 N Academy Ave Danville, PA 17822
