Obituary for Martin Frankovich

Martin M. Frankovich, 94, of Morann, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2023 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.

Born on September 16, 1928 in Morann, he was the son of the late John and Anna (McCloskey) Frankovich.

He was a 1945 graduate of Madera High School. Martin was a US Army veteran having served during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Barbara PNCC in Houtzdale, YMS of R at St. Barbara’s, the Morann Club, and the American Legion Post 591 in Houtzdale. He loved bowling, having bowled in leagues while in New York, and he loved Polka music and dancing.

He is survived by a sister, Lillian Popovich of Morann, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Deao, and five brothers, Vincent, Joseph, Robert, Frank, and Paul Frankovich.

Family will receive friends Monday, February 13, 2023 from 4-7pm and Tuesday from 9:30-10:30 am at Kruise-Spewock Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., Ramey. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11am Tuesday at St. Barbara PNCC, Houtzdale. Fr. Andres Simental will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Barbara PNCC Cemetery.
