Obituary for Mary Louise Reichhardt

Reichhardt, Mary Louise nee Folley. Beloved wife of the late Rudolph.
Loving Mother of Mary Jane Malczynski and her husband John, and Maxine
Reichhardt. Cherished grandmother of Mary Lynn, Kim and Mark.
Great Grandmother to Alec, Amanda, Samantha and Whitney.

From her beginnings as the 2nd youngest of 6 children born to an
Italian immigrant family, she soared beyond expectations. Walking 12
miles(round trip) to Houtzdale School, she graduated as valedictorian,
entered nursing school in NY at the age of 17, delivered babies in
Harlem, performed public health nursing in the Midwest and served our
country as a flight nurse during WWII.

Her humanitarianism was universal. Much like Mother Teresa, Louise's
commitment to Catholicism, the Blessed Mother and the needy, was
unrelenting. She was the local "go to" for the neighbors who needed
medical or nursing attention and was the confidant to the emotionally
wanting. Although her primary residence was Whitestone, NY, she never
missed summers "on the farm" in Ginter, initially caring for her invalid
mother while she herself being a wife and mother. In the years to
follow, she enjoyed her PA surroundings, and forever friends. She is
often remembered by many in PA for teaching them or their children how
to swim.

Funeral Liturgy will be held Thursday, August 20, 2015 at 11:00 AM in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ramey. Father Zab Amar will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery, Houtzdale. A luncheon will follow at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ramey.

One of her greatest joys was walking in the PA woods. She has now taken her final, glorious walk.....to HEAVEN.

Arrangements entrusted to Kruise-Spewock Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., Ramey.
