Obituary for Thomas "Chub" Zimmerman

Thomas W. “Chub” Zimmerman, 85, of Ramey, PA went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 24. 2022 at his home.

Chub was a lover of all sports. Pittsburgh was his favorite unless MoValley was playing. He never missed a game, especially if one of his grandchildren were playing. He was always in the stands to cheer them on.

Married to his wife for 63 years, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Chub was known by many- you could not venture anywhere in town without hearing “Hey Chub!” He also liked to put a smile on everyone’s face. He liked to try to make light of life with a smile and a joke. He will be missed by so many. His family finds a sense of happiness knowing he will now be in heaven with his wife, two daughters, and grandson.

Chub worked in the mining industry, road construction, and had a small greenhouse. He was a trooper for the PA State Police from 1965 until his retirement in 1992.

He is survived by four children, Thomas J. (Maryann) Zimmerman of Houtzdale, Mark R. Zimmerman of Johnsonburg, Renee (John) Murarik of Houtzdale, and Lori (Scott) Love of Houtzdale; two sisters, M.
