Obituary for Thomas Holencik Jr.

Thomas Holencik, Jr., 69, of Ramey, passed away on Friday, February 18, 2022, surrounded by family at his home, after an eleven year battle with bladder cancer.
Born on October 1, 1952 in Philipsburg, he was the son of the late Thomas Holencik, Sr. and Juanita (Dolacky) Holencik.
He was a graduate of Moshannon Valley High School and Williamsport Community College. He worked as a Mine Conservation Inspector for the D.E.P.
On August 4, 1979, he married Diane Vancas in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ramey. She survives him at home.
Tom (a.k.a. Hunky) was a fiercely loyal and loving family man. He extended this love and kindness to those he met. To know him was to know laughter and a good joke. He especially loved buggy rides, wrestling, and playing catch with his best buddy, Hendrix. He was an avid collector of antique cars, where he spent many weekends showing them and collecting trophies. Tom was involved in a number of local activities. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Ramey, the Knights of Columbus, the Knight Booster Club, the Basketball Court Club, the Morann Club, the Elks in Tyrone, and a former member of the Houtzdale Moose Club. He was also a Little League, Peewee football, and softball coach.
In addition to his wife, he will be deeply missed by his three children, Dr. Susan (Roger) Holencik-Messner of Port Matilda, Stephen Holencik of Ramey, and Paul (Megan) Holencik of Cranberry Twp.; one grandson, Hendrix Holencik; brother-in-law, Edward (Mary) Vancas; sister-in-law Carolyn Holencik; step-sisters, Carol Howard, Elizabeth Gregal, and Allison Novosel; nieces, Kelly (Justin) Hazleton, and Molly, Carly, and Kieren Holencik; nephews, Kris (Tina) Vancas, Nick and Eric Holencik.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dr. Mark Holencik; and step-father, Alex Gregal.
Friends will be received Sunday from 4-7 PM and Monday from 9:30-10:45 AM at Kruise-Spewock Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., Ramey. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11AM Monday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ramey. Father Zab Amar will be celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
