William J. Twigg


William J. Twigg, 73, of Smokerun, passed away at 11:35 PM, Saturday, October 4, 2014 at his residence.

Bill was born on Sept. 30, 1941, in Philipsburg, a son of the late William "Jack" Twigg, Jr and R. Virginia (Stiles) Twigg.

He was a 1959 graduate of the former B.C.I. High School and had attended the former Smokerun United Methodist Church.

Bill worked as a forklift operator for the Clearfield Cheese Plant for 30 years and retired as a custodian from the Glendale School District.

On March 11, 1961 in the former Coalport Evangelical United Brethren Church , Bill married Beverly W. (Hadden) Twigg, who survives of Smokerun.

He is survived by by four children, Deborah Smolko of Black Moshannon; Douglas J. Twigg (Karen) of Beccaria; Dawn Noel (William) of Irvona and William T. Twigg (Tracy) of Clearfield.



Bill is survived by 8 granddaughters and one grandson.

He is also survived by two brothers and a sister; Arthur "Jack" Twigg (Carol) of Smokerun; Cathy Lebda (John) of Smokerun; and Roger Twigg (Nadine) of Madera; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Bill enjoyed the outdoors and wildlife, he was an avid hunter and enjoyed restoring cars especially his 1946 Ford Pickup.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, Oct. 7 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM and on Wednesday, Oct. 8 from 9-11 AM at the Kruise Funeral Home, Inc Ramey.



Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM in the Kruise Funeral Home, Inc Ramey with Pastor Clare L. Pannebaker officiating. Interment will follow in the Hegarty's Crossroad Beccaria Twp.
